Apologetics

The Catholic Church's teaching on human sexuality explained:

The Spousal meaning of the body

The promulgation of the Encyclical Humanae Vitae in 1969 and the rejection of the legitimacy of artificial birth-control was a watershed for many Catholics in their attitude towards the Pope and the Church. At the time little context was given as to why the Church taught as it did, which was unfortunate. The issue was shrunk to a matter of conscience alone without the rational grounds for which to make the choice, except the avoidance of pregnancy. Now the Church has developed a body of teaching that embraces the whole person, of which Humanae Vitae forms part of this coherent whole. These talks and discussions will help explain this bigger vision that the Church possesses on the human person, and their bodily constitution.
